Frequently asked questions

Will this work on my phone?

You need an eSIM-compatible phone that is unlocked for use with other carriers. Support can vary by model and where you bought it. Check for Add eSIM in your phone’s settings and confirm that your carrier has unlocked it before buying.

Can I keep my usual phone number?

Yes. The travel eSIM does not replace your number. On a compatible dual-SIM phone, keep your home line enabled for calls and texts and select the travel eSIM for mobile data. Turn off data roaming on your home line and automatic data switching. Your home carrier’s call and text charges still apply.

When should I install my eSIM?

Install it on reliable Wi-Fi before you travel, following the instructions in My eSIMs. Keep the travel eSIM turned off until you need it, especially if your home country is covered by the plan. Leave your usual SIM in place.

How does the free eSIM offer work?

When free offers are available, add a plan for your destination to the cart, then sign in or create an account to claim it. You can claim one free eSIM per verified account, across all destinations. No payment card is needed for the free plan. Availability varies by destination; additional plans and top-ups are optional paid purchases.

What happens if my eSIM doesn’t work?

Open your eSIM in My eSIMs and choose Get help for guided connection checks. Keep the eSIM installed while troubleshooting. If we can’t get you connected, service that never provided usable data qualifies for a full refund. If it worked and then failed, we refund the unused data under our refund policy. You’ll see the amount before confirming; refunding ends that eSIM’s service. Free plans have no cash refund value.
