When does my Latin America plan activate?
The live plans we list start their validity on the first connection in a covered destination. Installation alone does not start the clock. Each plan also has an activation deadline after purchase; check Details before buying. Enable the eSIM and its data roaming when you arrive.
Can I keep my usual phone number?
Yes, if your phone supports using your home SIM alongside the travel eSIM. Keep your home SIM for your number and choose the travel eSIM for mobile data. Turn off data roaming and automatic data switching on your home SIM. Your home carrier may charge for calls and SMS.
Can I receive texts and two-factor authentication codes?
Keep your home SIM enabled to receive texts sent to your usual number. Delivery abroad depends on your home carrier, roaming settings and the service sending the code; it is not guaranteed by the travel eSIM. Check your carrier’s roaming charges and set up an authenticator or backup codes before leaving.
Can I use hotspot and 5G in Latin America?
All currently listed plans support hotspot sharing. Up to 5G is available on selected networks and plans. Speeds depend on your destination, device, coverage and network conditions.
Does my Latin America eSIM include calls and SMS?
These plans provide mobile data only, without a new phone number or a calls/SMS allowance. WhatsApp, FaceTime and other internet calling and messaging apps work over your data connection.
Will it work if my phone is carrier-locked?
Your phone must be carrier-unlocked and eSIM-compatible. Use Check compatibility above to check the device you are taking. Compatibility varies by model and purchase region. If your phone is locked, ask your carrier to unlock it before buying.
What if I cannot connect or need a refund?
Open your purchase in My eSIMs and choose Get help for guided connection checks and any available refund options. Refund eligibility and amounts depend on the service issue and data usage. Read our refund policy before buying.
Does one plan cover all of Latin America?
Coverage varies by package. A plan listed here covers at least two destinations in Latin America, and may include destinations elsewhere. Open Details to check every stop; the region name is not a promise of coverage in every country.
