Is your phone ready for an eSIM?
Two things to check: it supports eSIM, and it can use a plan from another carrier.

Check the phone you are taking
A model name alone is not enough. Purchase region, carrier restrictions and software can affect eSIM support. Look for the setting on your actual device, then use the manufacturer’s instructions for your exact model if it is missing.
This is a guided self-check, not a remote scan or a guarantee of compatibility.
iPhone eSIM compatibility
Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Service) → Add eSIM.
Also open Settings → General → About and check Carrier Lock (sometimes called Network Provider Lock). “No SIM restrictions” indicates that the iPhone is unlocked. Your carrier handles unlock requests.

Google Pixel eSIM compatibility
Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add SIM → Set up an eSIM.
Google documents different SIM options by Pixel model and purchase market. Use its model-specific guide, and ask your home carrier whether the phone is unlocked for another provider’s eSIM.
Samsung Galaxy eSIM compatibility
Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM.
Samsung’s supported devices vary by country and model variant. Compare your exact model number with Samsung’s regional guidance, then confirm carrier unlock with your home carrier.
Can’t find Add eSIM?
Check the model number in your phone’s About settings and contact its manufacturer or your carrier. An EID or a familiar model name is not a substitute for confirming that you can add this type of plan. If the device is managed by an employer, ask its administrator about restrictions.
Do this before buying. A travel eSIM cannot add eSIM hardware to an unsupported phone or unlock a carrier-locked device.
Once your phone is ready
Our travel plans supply mobile data. Keeping your usual number depends on your phone’s SIM setup and your home carrier. Install on a reliable internet connection, then follow the instructions for your purchased plan.
