Your 7-day validity starts on the first connection in a covered destination. Installing alone doesn’t start the clock. If home or a stopover is covered, connecting there counts too. Keep the eSIM off until you’re ready. Activate within 180 days of purchase.
Keep your home SIM for your number and choose the travel eSIM for mobile data, if your phone supports both lines together. Turn off home-line data roaming and automatic data switching. Your carrier may charge for calls and SMS. Set up your two lines.
Keep your home SIM enabled to receive texts sent to your usual number. Delivery abroad depends on your home carrier, roaming settings and the service sending the code; it is not guaranteed by the travel eSIM. Check your carrier’s roaming charges and set up an authenticator or backup codes before leaving.
