How this carrier estimate works

When keeping your carrier makes sense

Your existing T-Mobile plan may already cover your data needs. An International Pass adds calling and a high-speed allowance; a new pass replaces the remaining benefits of an active pass.

What changes with a travel eSIM?

ShrimpToast provides a fixed mobile-data allowance. It does not replace your home phone number or include ordinary calls and SMS. Your phone must support eSIM and be unlocked. Internet apps can use travel data; home-line calls and texts remain subject to carrier charges.

This comparison is written by ShrimpToast. Our recommendation checks our own catalog; it is not a market-wide price ranking. We do not access your carrier account or verify your included benefits.

Before you choose

What if roaming is already included in my plan?

Select the included-roaming option only if it covers every phone’s needs for the whole trip. The calculator then uses $0 in additional carrier-pass charges. Check allowance, speed, destination and usage limits with your carrier.

Will using a travel eSIM stop my carrier charging me?

Not by itself. Choose it for mobile data, disable home-line data roaming and automatic data switching, and check your carrier’s call, text and voicemail rules. Keeping the home line active can still incur charges.

Can I use this for a cruise or a multi-country trip?

This calculator covers one land destination and up to 30 days. Air and maritime plans have different terms. For travel data across several countries, use our route comparisons or main planner.
